Zeema’s Mom’s SIBO-Friendly Indian Kebabs or Meatballs Recipe

Those of you already familiar with Zeema’s Indian mom’s awesome creations will be happy to have another delicious SIBO-friendly recipe from this sweetheart of a home cook. These special kebabs combine cinnamon, cloves, mint, cilantro and fresh ginger for unique and utterly mouthwatering flavor.


1 pound ground beef
1 egg
2 tsp. ground/microplaned or finely minced fresh ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon as needed
1/4 tsp. cloves as needed
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
Salt and freshly ground black pepper as needed

Optional: ground/microplaned fresh jalapeño (as much / as hot as you want it)

Combine all ingredients with your hands until well-blended. Roll the meat onto skewers and cook however it’s convenient for you: grilled on your barbecue, grilled in the oven, or form meat into round balls and pan fry or deep fry them. (We grilled ours on the gas barbecue over medium high heat; they were done in roughly 7-8 minutes.)

Serve with SIBO-friendly 24 hour yogurt blended with minced cucumber and fresh chopped dill, if you like.
